Mayberry Gardens

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does Mayberry Gardens accept Medicaid?

At this time we are not set up to accept Medicaid.

  • What criteria does a new resident have to meet to live at Mayberry Gardens?

In our Type A homes, the resident must be ambulatory.  An ambulating device such as a "walker" or wheel chair may be used, however, the resident must be able to do so unassisted.  The other important criteria for a Type A license is the resident must be able to understand and follow directions in the event of an emergency.

In our Type B homes, residents need not be ambulatory.  Our staff provides assistance 24 hrs. a day to the residents in getting in and out of bed, going to the restroom, dinning room etc...  Of course, since any emergency proceedures would require staff assistance to the residents in a type B facility, that is not an isssue.

  • What is the difference between a Type A and a Type B Assisted Living license?

Generally speaking Type A residents can ambulate by some means unassisted.  Type B residents can not.  Type B residents are, for the most part, unable to transfer without assistance and would require staff assistance in the event of an emergency.

  • What type of license does Mayberry Gardens currently have?

Currently, we have 6 Type A homes and 2 Type B homes.

  • Does Mayberry Gardens cater to residents with special dietary needs?

Yes.  We can adjust and substitute some menu items to fit the dietary needs of each resident.

  • Is a long term lease agreement required to move into Mayberry Gardens?

There are no leases at all.  Residents can move in and move out at will.  We only ask for a 30-day notice when moving out.

  • Can residents bring their own furniture and decorate or personalize their room?

Of course. We encourage everyone to make their own room as personal and comfortable as they wish.

  • What type of life safety features does Mayberry Gardens have?

We have a central fire alarm system installed in each home with smoke detectors in every room. We also have an NFPA 13 commercial level fire sprinkler system installed.  In addition, every resident room is equiped with a voice actuated intercom in case of an emergency. The resident only needs to call out (no buttons to push, no cords to pull) and the attendant hears and responds.

  • Does Mayberry Gardens provide transportation to the resident's doctor's office?

Transportation is available, with a $25.00 trip charge.   If our staff stays with the resident at the appointment, there would be an an additional $25.00/hr. charge.
