Hello future Residents and Families,

We hope you are well.  Restrictions have begun to be lifted at Assisted Living and Memory Care facilities in general.  We are now able to accommodate inside “essential caregiver” visits as well as outside visits on the porches of each home.  The Covid-19 pandemic has been a challenge for our industry; however, we have completely adapted to the needed environment with full sanitizing protocols and resident social distancing to ensure all residents are safe and happy.  In addition, by January 7th all three of our facilities will have received the Covid-19 vaccine.  Some of our other adjustments are:

  • Staff trained to identify Covid-19 symptoms
  • On site testing if symptoms arise
  • Residents’ temperature and symptom checks 3 times daily
  • Covid testing completed before move in
  • Employees screened before entering the facility and beginning a shift
  • Trained care staff on-site 24/7 to monitor health and wellness and provide direct care
  • Outdoor visitation of families to residents

Mayberry Gardens is dedicated to exceptional care for our residential communities. We run a vigorous sanitizing schedule, track symptoms of all residents 3 times a day, and screen staff and all necessary medical personnel daily among many other safeguards. Our goal is to nullify or severely limit the spread of the virus. We are following all CDC, County and Texas Department of Health and Human Services guidelines. We will update progress as soon as possible.

In order to comply with Texas Health & Human Services Commission regulations, Mayberry Gardens has established these Conditions for Essential Caregiver Visitations:

  1. All designated visitors will be required to have a copy of a negative Covid-19 test dated within 14 days of the first visit.  The test copy must be on file before any visits can begin.
  2. Visits are limited to one visitor at a time.  Two may be designated, but only one may visit at a time.  Visits can last up to 2 hours.
  3. Visits must be scheduled in advance with the House Manager. An Essential Caregiver CANNOT just “show up” for a visit. The scheduled time will be posted on a Visit Calendar in each home.
  4. All screening of Essential Caregivers must be done on the front porch.  Once screened and documented, the visitor will have to enter the home through the back door and be escorted to the resident’s room.  The room door must remain closed during the entire visit.  Under no circumstances will the designated caregiver be permitted to enter another resident’s room or go to the front living and dining areas where other residents might be congregating.
  5. Essential Caregivers will comply with the Mayberry Gardens infection control policies.
  6. The designated caregiver MUST always wear a face mask covering the mouth and nose, and a name badge while in the home. The resident should wear a mask if tolerated.
  7. All visitors must comply with hand hygiene – wash or sanitize hands on entering AND exiting the building.
  8. Mayberry Gardens will only allow 3 Essential Caregivers in each home at any given time.
  9. Mayberry Gardens staff are obligated to refuse entrance to any Essential Caregiver who does not meet the policy requirements, questionnaire standards, or comes for an unscheduled visit.
