Recently we had the Children’s Traveling Theatre come and perform a rendition of the Musical Annie.
This was a real treat for our residents who enjoyed hearing the children’s voices and seeing them perform.
It was a great event to remember!
When it comes to Memory Care, we are absolutely convinced activities help brighten the day while they help with small and large muscle coordination and stimulate the brain. Enjoy the moments and do not expect projects completed. Activities should be more stage appropriate depending on the patient. Gardening is an awesome hobby. Blooming flowers emit fragrances…
Laverne, a resident at Mayberry Gardens in Garland, proudly shows the shirt that she has owned and worn for 50 years on the 4th of July. We are excited to celebrate the 4th of July with you Laverne and for showing your patriotic spirit and 50 year achievement.
We have some good entertainment and activties in celebration of St Patty’s Day. The residents and staff hope everyone has a safe and happy celebration!
In January and February we have been blessed to have some fantastic entertainers. So far this year we have had some gospel singers, Patsy Cline impersonators, accordion players, blue grass duets, country singers, and child performers. Recently the ladies at Mayberry Gardens got together to decorate their own hats in preparation for a Special Tea Party. Here are some of the pictures of the event. We had a great Easter weekend. Our favorite activity for our residents this weekend was our first annual Easter egg hunt. We are grateful to some of the local pre-schools in Garland and Richardson for bringing their students over to entertain our residents and bring back memories of Easters long ago with children hunting eggs:)
